Marlim field - collapse analysis in sandstone reservoirs using dynamic methods
Abstract
The Oligocene/Eocene reservoirs of the Marfim Field, Campos Basin, are composed basically of friable sandstones displaying a porosity of around 30% and very high permeabilities (above 100 mD). With the purpose of aiding selection of optimum production flow rates and determining whether or not gravel packs vvould be necessary, data on the occurrence of sanding in DSTs conducted on twelve wells were compared with drawdown values obtained theoretically, using Schlumberger's Mechanical Properties Program (MECPRO, 1990), whose input are density and sonic log data.
