The influence of additive noise on predictive deconvolution
Abstract
The effect of additive noise on the performance of predictive deconvolution is analyzed. One of the most important conclusions is that the presence of additive noise seriously damages results. lt is also shown that autocorrelation of the output trace is not reliable as a measurement of methodological efficiency. Six examples illustrate how results are affected by different combinations of signal and noise.
