High resolution seismic
Abstract
Up to the middle of the past decade, multi-channel seismic reflection was_not considered useful for mapping small and low depth shapped basin structures. The conventional sources did not generate the broad range of desired frequencies. ln lhe last few years, there have been great advances in high frequency generation and noise suppression that have made high-resolution seismic very attractive ln Brazil there are many small shallow accumulalions with complex stratigraphy and structure. Thus, the use of a seismic method with high-resolution parameters is highly recommend. To obtain high-resolution results, the proper selection of the field parameters is fundamental The choice of these parameters is determined by the objectives of the survey and the resources available. ln this work; resolution and detection concepts and lhe principal parameters of data acquisition will be discussed. A calculation using these parameters for a high-resolution survey will be made.
